March Leadership Panel Notes

Joining the Camp Steps Now on Website

A new section of the website has been added which lays out all the steps required to become a member of Dendronia, as well as guides and due dates around each step.

The current steps for joining the camp are:

  • Completing the Sign Up Sheet: Due May 31st

  • Paying Camp Dues for the Year: Due May 31st

  • Assigning Your Ticket on Skald.com: Due May 31st

  • Signing Up for your OT-Job: Due June 30th

  • Registering your Tent(s): Due June 30th

If you miss deadlines, you may still be allowed in camp, but will likely not get your space allotment and will have to share a tent with someone else.

Camp Design

A camp design map will be created after camp signup is complete, once we know tent sizes and space needs.

Sub-Camps & In-Time Groups

Rules around subcamps and In-Time Camp Groups will be released in the coming week. In the meantime, they follow these general guidelines:

Subcamps

Subcamps will have to nominate a person to work with Madi to plan their subcamp layout. The people of the subcamp will recieve their combined space allotment and will be responsible for deciding their initial layout. They will then meet with Madi and adjust it based on the reality of the overall camp layout.

We recommend that, if you only have 2 or 3 tents, to simply reach out to Madi and ask to camp together. But anything beyond that, to camp next to each other or to start to create your own space within the camp besides your individual tents, we recommend you form a subcamp.

In-Time Groups

In-time groups are, obviously, free to organize themselves however they please. But to recieve resources from the camp, we have specific guidelines.

The current resources the camp provides registered in-time groups are as following:

  1. Listing the group on the camp website.

  2. A private section on the Dendronian discord that has one chat, one forum, and one voice chat.

  3. Cheaper tent rentals offered at bare minimum price.

  4. The ability to organize group areas in the camp using their pooled space allotment.

To register an in-time group, the group would need the following:

  1. 5 total members. Members cannot be new to the game of the camp. They must have been in Dendronia for at least one Conquest.

  2. One person that is the out-of-game organizer of the group that the camp leadership can communicate with. This person may not be the organizer of another group in the camp.

  3. A name and description that can be given to the camp admin. As well as any information you wish to be associated with your group.

Once a group has all these things, they will meet with the camp leadership and discuss their group explain it.

Out-Of-Time Banned Players

As we have had to ban our second member recently, we wanted to layout how we would handle it going forward.

Whenever we ban a member of the camp, we will do the following:

  1. Announce that the member has been banned in the next Leadership pannel, as well as a general overview of why they were banned.

  2. Remove the member from the Discord.

Members are free to ask us for more details in a private chat. We would prefer people ask for clarification over spreading rumors and gossip. The reasons a member is banned isn’t secret, we just would prefer it be shared in a more conscious way.

Whenever a member is banned, we ask that other members do not bring them into the camp. If they are brought into the camp, they will be asked to leave. That way the camp space and the discord stay comfortable areas for people who might have been affected by whatever behavior got the person banned.

Gameplay Updates

On the story side, we are working toward gaining land in game so the camp can grow into a nation.

Our camp story is based on Fox and Crow’s old world. The goal is to help heal and stabilize the magic in this world, at least within our lands.

We are also still discussing ways to make the tree bigger, though that remains logistically difficult.

We discussed the potential of the camp having a design contest for what the Story Tree would look like.
